SMS Opt-In Evidence

This page documents the complete consent experience for every opt-in path used by the Lake Effect AI Customer Messaging program, including the path that happens over the phone and therefore has no other public URL. It is published so that carrier and Campaign Registry reviewers can verify each flow end to end.
Summary of all opt-in paths. There are three, and all three require the end user to contact Lake Effect AI first. We never purchase, rent, import, or append phone numbers from any source.
Path 1 — Dedicated web opt-in form

The visitor enters their name and mobile number and must tick a consent checkbox that is unchecked by default. The form cannot be submitted without actively ticking it. The checkbox reads, verbatim:
"I agree to receive SMS messages from Lake Effect AI about my inquiry. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our SMS Terms and Privacy Policy."
The words "SMS Terms" and "Privacy Policy" in that checkbox are live links to https://lakeeffectai.com/sms-terms and https://lakeeffectai.com/privacy. Directly beneath the checkbox the page states: "This box is not checked by default. Consent is not required to contact us or to buy anything."
For every submission we store the exact consent wording displayed, the URL of the page it was displayed on, and a timestamp.
Path 2 — Contact form on the home page

The same consent checkbox, with the same verbatim wording and the same links, appears on the contact form on our home page. It is also unchecked by default and is optional — the form can be submitted without it, in which case we reply by email only and the number is never messaged.
Path 3 — Verbal disclosure on an inbound call
This path has no public URL of its own, which is why it is documented here.
The end user initiates contact by calling our published business number, (716) 303-4652. If we cannot answer, the caller hears the following recorded greeting in full before the recording beep, and before any text message is sent:
"Hi, you have reached Lake Effect AI. We are unavailable right now but will text you right back. Please leave a message after the beep."
The caller is therefore told, in the call they themselves placed, that a text message is coming, before it is sent. They then receive exactly one automated message acknowledging the missed call. A representative example of that message:
"Hi! Sorry we missed your call. This is Lake Effect AI - we'll get back to you shortly. Reply STOP to opt out."
Every message sent on this path ends with the literal text "Reply STOP to opt out." If the caller does not reply, no further messages are sent. We do not send any marketing, promotional, or recurring message on this path — only the single acknowledgement and, if the caller writes back, direct replies to what they ask.

Numbers we do not message
We do not purchase, rent, import, append, or otherwise acquire phone numbers from any third party, list broker, or data provider. Every number in the program belongs to a person who either submitted one of the forms above or called our business directly.
